Car Tetris – The Parking Lot

Your key to escape? Strategic placement.

Despite traffic and the availability of mass transit, many people still drive to work here in Bangkok. At Rakluke, however, there aren’t enough parking spots in the parking lot. This problem is solved by having people park their cars directly in front of other cars, perpendicular in the lot. If someone needs to use their car, often times it is blocked in by other vehicles. They solve this problem by keeping the perpendicular cars unlocked! Thus, if you need to squeeze your car out of the lot before the barrier cars have been moved, you simply shift the problem car into “Neutral” and push it out of the way.

This intriguing parking arrangement may be the case at other office buildings, but I can’t say for sure.
